Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Academy, is part of the
student support team at Brighton High School. LOT Academy aids the
school's retention efforts, motivates students for academic success,
helps set academic goals, and problem-solve obstacles to learning
including attendance challenges. These endeavors support a student's
growing vision for a successful future.

School/Student Meetings
Attending
administrator, faculty and staff forums where students of concern are
highlighted, giving LOT counselors an opportunity to provide
consultation and maximize early detection, intervention and follow-up
on issues that may serve as obstacles to learning.
Classroom Workshops
Providing classroom workshops focused on leadership (academic) skill building.
Small Groups
Engaging
students in small groups focused on activities that give students an
opportunity to apply their leadership skills and keep them engaged in
the learning process.
Individual Check-ins
Initiating
a minimum of three individual meetings a year with each student to
build a therapeutic and educational alliance; focusing primarily on
students in the10th-12th grades.
Counseling Services
In
addition, and as needs dictate, LOT Academy offers traditional school
based counseling services such as child assessments, family
meetings/follow-up, resource and active referral connections to
community providers, short term individual and group therapy.
