Leaders of Tomorrow, Inc. (Leaders) is a nonprofit organization committed to the social and emotional development of children, adolescents and young adults.
Leaders of Tomorrow Academy (LOT Academy) is a school-based prevention program focusing on leadership development as a way to reduce at-risk behaviors and facilitate academic success.
Leaders takes a holistic approach to youth development. We understand that home, school, and social lives influence each child.
As an organization, Leaders appreciates, understands and speaks the language of today's youth. This creates an atmosphere of trust allowing increased services to our young people.
Leaders takes into account each child's broader environment and makes sure that parents, family members and educators themselves have the support they need so that they are best able to make a positive impact on the child's life.
LOT Academy works directly with between 800-1000 culturally diverse elementary and high school students. In addition, LOT staff assistance is available to students' families, teachers and administrators.
LOT Academy helps its student members identify and develop their individual strengths, and encourages them to maintain high expectations of themselves. Students are encouraged to see value in their participation and their contributions in the classroom, to their communities, and to society as a whole.
Each LOT Academy student member has the opportunity for individual counseling and to work with a LOT Academy staff member to identify and overcome challenges to his or her learning and development.
Our Family Involvement Initiative offers a violence prevention curriculum targeting elementary school students and a growing, receptive group of parents. Other workshops offered to parents include "Motivating Children to Succeed" and "The Transition to Middle School."
